Around Town In February

Around Town In February

New Year’s Resolution: Maybe yours was to find the time to connect with the places you love and explore the places you have not?

In the face of the cold winter, it’s so easy to just hunker down. When the days are short, the nights are cold, just thinking of the outside can have a daunting number of layers (literally)….. when winter closes in, a new adventure just might be the thing to light up, and warm, your days.

While the summer just vibrates in Camden, with the comings and goings, the boats, lobsters, lighthouses, ice cream, a landscape of mountain trails, and hidden beaches— the winter goes at a gentler pace but the midcoast is full of quiet adventure.  While the sailing fleet is wrapped up, the harbor is alive with fishing (and smaller) boats quietly coming and going, the streets are quiet but the Snow Bowl is alive with downhill and cross country skiing (and the US Toboggan Championships!!!), the streets are quiet but the Opera House will be filled during concerts and the Camden Conference, the fabulous art galleries invite you in to peruse pieces of art work by the many wonderful local artists, the same landscape of beaches, mountains and trails await your exploration and introspective moments… And, at the end of the day, perhaps with gentle snow falling, drinks in front of a warm fire, wine dinners from around the world, new friends, quiet conversation; there’s so much happening in Camden in February- here’s a list of things that shouldn’t be missed!
